LOCAL GASTRONOMY
In general, Agistrian cuisine is not regarded as high gastronomy. It tends to be more on the peasant side, with many one-dish or even cooked meals, making it a rather plain, basic but honest cuisine. And there exactly lies its charm; in its splendid taste, due to the fresh ingredients that are season bound and grow outside, mainly on the island itself!

Agistri is famous for fresh fish dishes and for the traditional handmade cheese-pie, courgette-pie and spinach-pie.
